I am an Italian from New Jersey, who writes mostly Country songs.. Who knew? Actually I knew. You really don't have to travel far from any major city or urban area to find Country in any state, including the Garden State. In my case, Country just seems to fit most of what I write. My songs are meant to tell a story and bring the audience to a place that hopefully they can appreciate and even relate to. Luckily, I really enjoy writing. You'd have to, to take the time to write four novels, essays, short stories,white papers, etc.............Songs are a different animal but I think the experience of story writing has really influenced my approach to writing songs.. A good song is having an intimate relationship that marries the sound of words, the stories that the words tell and the rhythm and magic of music.When they all come together, great things can happen.
Think about Taxi, Piano Man, By the Time I get to Phoenix, Moon River and so many other masterpieces that stir emotions in all of us. That guy driving a cab picking up his old girlfriend and realizing that they actually both found their life's goals in ways that neither would have been happy about. I try to write songs that might come close to these rare works that made such impressions on me. I'm very happy with the songs that I've written and I try to use different genres when the mood hits. God always drives the bus I'm on and I'm enjoying the ride, waiting to see where this journey heads. In the meantime, my Pittie, Sophia, and I are living (and enjoying) the Old Florida vibe in St. Pete Beach.where we live..
